In 2000, Mr. Christian Poncelet, President of the Senate, signed a new convention with the Ministry of the Culture who confides the management and the programming for the Luxembourg Museum to the Senate. The programming of the Museum alternates two important thematic: The Renaissance in the honor of Marie de Medicis who initiated the Luxembourg Palace and Modern art to evocate the important period of the Museum between 1887 and 1937.
