The department of Currencies, Medals and Antiques of the National Library in Paris carries the traditional naming of "Coin room" or " Cabinet of France ". He indeed arose from the collection of Kings of France. After the plunders of religious wars, we must wait for Charles IX and the creation of this cabinet to discover the notion of Crown’s patrimony. From Henry IV, collections will never be scattered. This collection counts 500 000 currencies and medals, 20 000 bank notes and 35 000 antique objects as cameos, stamps, seals, silverware objects etc. … To its part, the library counts 70 000 volumes of catalogs, monographs and periodicals.
