With the desire of developing the French artistic production, Colbert decided in 1662 to group together in a same place the Parisian workshops of weaving mill tapestries and those Fouquet installed in Maincy. Born from this meeting, The Gobelins Manufacture will not stop to play an important role in the history of tapestry. This Museum proposes today visits with conferences in order to present weaving mill techniques for textile, tapestry and carpets.
